Past Sunday, the regional groups of Southwest Germany and North Rhine-Westphalia met in the beautiful city of Koblenz! Throughout a sunny day, we discussed a variety of issues on the transatlantic agenda.
We were especially happy to welcome Alex Sharp from the U.S. Consulate General Frankfurt. In an open discussion, our members raised aspects regarding current reports on police violence and community programs to shape a stronger societal bond in the United States, the European debt crisis, and the P5+1 negotiations with Iran. Mr. Sharp did not only focus on domestic and foreign policy, but also included remarks on his work as a U.S. diplomat. He provided valuable insights into the daily routines, challenges and opportunities that come with working in one of the largest diplomatic missions in the world. Thank you for being with us, Alex!
After a fruitful discussion, we started a sightseeing tour and explored the old town of Koblenz.
