Es gibt eine Vielzahl an Akteuren rund um die deutsch-amerikanischen Beziehungen – in politsicher, kultureller, als auch ökonomischer Hinsicht. Umso wichtiger ist es, dass diese auch voneinander wissen und sich regelmäßig austauschen. Deshalb nehmen wir als IjT an vielen Veranstaltungen rund um die transatlantischen Beziehungen teil, dieses Mal in der CDU/CSU Bundestagsfraktion im Berliner Reichstag. Vertreter aus Wirtschaft, Politik und Zivilgesellschaft diesseits und jenseits des Atlantiks kamen zusammen, um über das Projekt „Transatlantische Freihandelszone“ zu sprechen. Dabei ist der globale Prioritätenumschwung der USA weg von Europa hin zum südostasiatischen Raum unverkennbar. Besonders leidenschaftlich plädierte US-Botschafter Philipp D. Murphy für eine tiefere Integration der transatlantischen Wirtschafsgemeinschaft. Fazit: Es bleibt viel zu tun!There are many actors about the German-American relations – in political, cultural and economic respect. That’s why it is so important to know about and exchange with each other regularly. The IyT participates in many events about the transatlantic relations, this time in one hosted by the CDU/CSU faction in the German Bundestag, taking place in the Reichstag in Berlin. Representatives from economics, politics and society from this site and the other site of the atlantic ocean met to talk about the project „transatlantic free trade area“. The USA’s global change of priorities away from Europe and towards the Southeast Asian area can’t be overseen. Especially U.S. ambassador Philipp D. Murphy pleaded passionately for a deeper integration of the transatlantic economic community. Conclusion: There’s still a lot to do!
