Der Botschafter der Vereinigten Staaten, Philip D. Murphy, begrüßte drei Mitglieder der Initiative junger Transatlantiker am Montag in der Amerikanischen Botschaft in Berlin. Es sei wichtig, dass sich die „nächste Generation“ nicht nur für die deutsch-amerikanischen
Beziehungen interessiere, sondern sie auch mitgestalte. Dies beobachte er bei den jungen Transatlantikern, sagte Murphy: „I love what you guys are doing!“
Vor der Begegnung mit dem Botschafter hatten Jacob Schrot, David Stock und Christoph Rosenthal gut eine Stunde lang die Gelegenheit, Diplomaten der Abteilung für Public Affairs die Ziele und Projekte der IjT vorzustellen. Die stellvertretende Kulturattachée May Baptista und Cultural Affairs Specialist Geertje Hündorf sowie Amelia Shekar und Jasmin Gabel erkundigten sich nach dem Aufbau des Vereins und geplanten Aktivitäten der IjT.

The US ambassador to Germany, Philip D. Murphy, invited three members of the Initiative of Young Trans-Atlantics to meet him at the Berlin embassy on Monday. He said he wants to motivate the „next generation“ not only to be interested in the German-American Friendship, but also to do something about it. He appreciates IYT’s activities, Murphy said: „I love what you guys are doing!“
Before meeting the Ambassador, Jacob Schrot, David Stock and Christoph Rosenthal had the chance to present the Initative’s aims and projects to members of the Public Affairs Department. Deputy Cultural Affairs Officer May G. Baptista and Cultural Affairs Specialist Geertje Hündorf as well as Amelia Shekar and Jasmin Gabel asked their guests about structures and activities of the IYT.
